1. What is Sol Meliá Vacation Club?

Sol Meliá Vacation Club (SMVC) is an international shared vacation membership club with properties currently in Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and Europe. SMVC and the Leisure Real Estate division are part Spain-based Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts, a 50-year-old international hospitality company with over 350 hotels in more than 30 countries on five continents.

Sol Meliá Vacation Club members enjoy the best of both worlds: all the convenience and lavish amenities of a luxury, world-class resort, plus the value, flexibility and choice that vacation membership offers. SMVC truly provides members a “home away in the world”, in exotic locales such as Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Puerto Rico, the Canary Islands, Spain, and more.

SMVC membership is one of many leisure lifestyle experiences offered by the Leisure Real Estate division. A full lifestyle concept provides Members with an entire life cycle of experiences to meet their ever changing needs; starting with vacation club membership, and progressing to fractional and then full ownership. The variety of vacation experiences provides ongoing flexibility and lifestyle choices such as catered and planned reunions or weddings, in-country club facilities and events, concierge, butler and chef service, airfare, private plane usages, cruises, car rental and more.

2. Who is the typical Sol Meliá Vacation Club Member?

The typical Sol Meliá Vacation Club Member is a family seeking a lot of space, convenience, an endless array of activities and flexibility to stay in different places. Multi-bedrooms with amenities for home away from home vacationing, rather than hotel rooms, is a main appeal, along with the flexibility to explore different destinations and those who see the need to make vacationing with their families an important part of their lifestyle choice. SMVC families bring the extended family on vacations, many times including grandparents and grandkids or they pass along their membership use to other members of the family, or they take shorter romantic get-a-ways with their spouse.

3. How does Sol Meliá Vacation Club Membership work?

Sol Meliá Vacation Club Members have exclusive “right of use” weeks that are purchased at a “home resort.” The purchase includes a certain season of use and size or type of unit that is then backed up by a currency call SMOptions which provides Members with the ability to

trade for use at any SMVC location, SMVC Resort / Urban Collection locations, the 350+ Sol Meliá Hotels and Resorts locations, or through access to over 900 additional affiliated resort locations worldwide. It can also be used to access cruises, airfare, car rental and more.

In addition, Members have the flexibility to save their vacation time from one year to the next, borrow from future vacation years, divide vacation time into shorter get-a-way or nightly stays, or combine time in order to take a dream vacation!

4. What does a Sol Meliá Vacation Club Member’s resort stay include?

SMVC member resort stays include spacious, designer-appointed, suite-type accommodations in studio, 1-2 and 3 bedroom configurations that are large enough for the entire family and includes; living rooms, dining/kitchen areas, outdoor patio (many with hot tubs), internet access, plasma TVs with satellite, DVD player, stereo and daily housekeeping. Featured amenities and services also include full access to all hotel amenities and services including; swimming pools, beaches, organized activities for children and adults, room service, gourmet restaurants, live entertainment and more.

Many SMVC locations also feature championship golf courses, world-class spa, casinos and tennis courts. Some SMVC properties feature all-inclusive plans for food, beverage and non-motorized sports that members can access at a deeply discounted rate.

5. What if a Member wants to stay at other resort locations instead of staying at the home resort where they purchased?

Sol Meliá Vacation Club has set up a system that encourages Members to explore the world by making it flexible and easy to exchange a “home resort” week at another Sol Meliá Vacation Club location or other affiliated worldwide location. There are currently over 1,200 high quality options available to members.
